End Days: NaNoWriMo
Since I changed ideas in the middle of the month, I’ve been playing catch-up ever since. Just not enough catch-up it seems, as I’m still about 15k words shy with only today and tomorrow left to finish (cross the 50,000 word mark).
I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it … in fact, I’m positive that I won’t. I’ll get close, which will be a victory to be, if only a moral one. The novel will be finished in the first month of December, which to me is a good enough position to be in. I’ll know that I would have finished on time had I not run into some real-life issues that prevented me from having the time to write on a few days.
Oh, well, there’s always next year to prove that I can, in fact, write a novel in 30 calendar days. To me, right now, it’s important enough that I can write a novel within 30 days of actually writing.

I continue to find your writing fascinating and the article on “The Economy of Writing” on the mark. I recently retired and now find that I can “eat” and “write” too. The creative process must be a passion that doing so fills a void left empty if not writing and getting “rich” should not be the goal. Great entries, stories and reflection.
